As I mentioned earlier, I am strictly a fly fisherman. I find that flyfishing the flats is the ultimate challenge involving skill and nerves of steel. To add the element of stalking by wading or canoe/kayak in ultra skinny water is a truly rewarding bonus that few get to experience. I am lucky… I do it on a regular basis..

Here is an analogy that I think puts things into perspective. Let’s compare this to hunting. Fishing with bait is like hunting with a gun. Your chances are pretty good. Flyfishing is like using a bow & arrow. Chances drop and skill requirements rise. Flyfishing for saltwater game fish from a canoe/kayak or wading is like hunting with a blowgun. It is a reward in itself and speaks volumes to the fisherman’s tenacity. This is my specialty.

There is several ways to attack so I will discuss every situation and make choices based on each individual situation weighing the factors involved such as skill level, goals etc..

To use bait is your own option. It will certainly increase your odds by about 90 to 100%. If the client wants to use bait I will provide them with the address of local bait and tackle shops. There are several that are pretty good. If catching is your only goal this is the undisputed way to go.

This business has been created in response to the inquiries I receive from fly fisherman from all over America to ask me How or Where or IF I will take them fishing. It is proof positive that it does not take thousands of dollars to have a bonefishing trip where one can expect world class fishing. It is MY absolute favorite way and allows the flyfisherman to achieve the “next level”

For the stubborn hardcores I now have DIY KAYAK BONEFISHING!!! -Just rent the kayak for the day and I will drop it off and pick it up…2 Freedom Hawk Kayaks ready to go, both the 12ft and the 14ft model. Great way to test one out before buying one or for getting close to the wildlife in Biscayne Bay.

I am now using Freedom Hawk Kayaks. This will offer another option for the kayak die hards and will give you the option of truly going solo. I have big plans for expanding into sweetwater starting here at the AIRPORT LAKES in Miami. I fish there many mornings because it is close to my house. This will allow for kayak launching and fishing for Peacock Bass along with many exotic freshwater species BUT at the same time it is above average for tarpon, snook and jacks on days when its too windy or cold for the flats.

Peacock Bass and Exotic Species can be caught by simply walking the canals and sight casting. This has proven to be effective and one can move and change locations very easy. This is much more low key fishing and a great way to receive one on one instruction on fly casting. Kayaking is always a option.
